the gift for visitors
The climax of every evening session is a spectacular mapping show. The monumental facade of the Grand Sports Arena becomes a canvas for a vibrant video stream; its walls and columns come alive, weaving narratives about the iconic landmarks of Moscow. The architecture itself is the star of the show. One of the capital's most recognisable facades is transformed into a stage for technological magic, where video projections sync perfectly with the building's architectural lighting and roof. We created four distinct video narratives: "Sport," "Emotions," "Traditions," and "Scale."
The soundtrack for "Sport" is built around an orchestral version of the legendary "Olympics-80" theme. The sound design masterfully blends the LAB orchestra with vocals by Sergey Lazarev and an arrangement by Therr Maitz. As the music plays, the facade of the arena appears to crack with ice, freeze over, and then thaw. The second chapter, "Emotions," is set to a high-energy mix of rock, rap, and pop hits. The third show delves into Russia's cultural traditions. Set to a dynamic mashup of "Moscow Never Sleeps," the Luzhniki facade transforms, displaying soaring skyscrapers and the visages of great writers and scientists. The final show, "Scale," unfolds to the powerful strains of the beloved folk song "Mother Earth".
